Assistant Editor, Digital - Sky News

This senior editorial role will put you at the sharp end of Sky News journalism, commissioning and delivering video projects and managing dynamic on the day news coverage across Sky’s platforms and social channels. There will be considerable team management responsibilities across the digital team.

What you’ll do:

• Make key editorial decisions and drive coverage on social platforms, video on demand and for our own platforms.

• Lead editorial teams, manage and develop journalists and represent those teams in key meetings.

• Be instrumental in developing new strategies to convert off-platform audiences to loyal Sky users.

• Pitch and devise stories and new strands, making innovative use of our live streaming, video and social capabilities.

• Work with our audience development team to implement data-led strategies.
   

What you’ll bring:

• Editorial and technical know-how with video editing tools.

• Knowledge of what video and sells work on different platforms.

• Have ‘best practice’ experience and legal knowledge to critique and sign-off sensitive video journalism.

• Creativity and a sense of now.

• Significant newsroom and breaking news experience.
