The chief sub, politics, is a key part of the Sky News politics unit, working closely with the assistant editors and reporters in Millbank as well as the wider online team in Osterley.
What You'll Do
- Sub-edit and oversee the Politics Hub live blog
- Help lead the team and drive our politics offering forward with new and creative ideas
- Curate and edit political content effectively to showcase the best of our team's journalism.
What you'll bring:
- First class writing skills with a track record of producing and sub-editing stories to a high standard.
- Excellent news judgement and a passion for political stories.
- Experience in handling breaking news scenarios.
- Great communication skills and a proven ability to work well in a team
- The ability to keep on top of lots of different moving stories simultaneously
- The judgement to protect our brand while maximising audience numbers
- Willing to adjust your work patterns when events require.
