Sky News is looking for a dynamic, innovative Commissioning Editor to oversee its slate of narrative and ‘always on’ podcasts to help deliver editorial and commercial impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Commission narrative podcasts from external producers in line with strategic objectives
  • Develop short and long-term plans for narrative podcasts
  • Invite and assess pitches and identify and drive the delivery of impactful long-form series
  • Manage internal and external production timetables and shape the delivery and multi-platform rollout of productions
  • Build relationships with external producers, production companies, and platforms
  • Support on marketing and promotional activity on owned and operated and third-party platforms
  • Oversee Sky News’ slate of ‘always on’ podcast productions
  • Review content and provide regular feedback
  • Manage and develop colleagues, work collaboratively with all Sky News platforms

What you’ll bring:

  • First class editorial leadership
  • Creative thinking with an ability to interrogate and shape ideas from conception to execution
  • Significant experience in podcast production with a track record in commissioning impactful content
  • A deep understanding of the podcast market, its formats, platforms, and audiences
  • Strategic decision making, organisation and quality control
  • A commitment to decency and empathy and to building a Sky News that reflects the diversity of the UK today

Where you’ll work:

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There’s also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
