As Communications Manager in Sky News, you will report into Sky’s Corporate Affairs department and focus on the beating heart of the newsroom. Working at pace, you will play a key role in brand led, corporate comms, bringing your expertise in public affairs and awareness of current affairs to deliver on a variety of campaigns.

Please note this role may require you to be on call on evenings and weekends.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver coverage that promotes Sky News initiatives as well as on-screen presenters and correspondents, ensuring the Sky News brand is consistently and effectively represented across various channels.
  • Pitch to media to place interviews, stories, images and clips around campaigns and brand.
  • Support delivery of live events B2B, B2C and with high-value stakeholders.
  • Advise the Sky News leadership team on external communications such as social media posts and speaking events.
  • Write press releases and other press materials as needed to the highest standard, researching and fact checking information as required.
  • Issues management and crisis comms preparedness, including responding and resolving media enquiries.
  • Collaborate with media, including developing and maintaining great relationships with journalists.

What you'll bring:

  • 3-5 years’ worth of experience, already at Comms Manager level.
  • Passion for the media sector and current affairs, a strong understanding of Sky News, Sky and the broadcasting landscape highly desirable.
  • Ability to work at pace and across multiple projects.
  • Excellent writing skills, including press releases, speeches, presentations and reports.
  • Ability to work closely with talent including briefings, issues management.
  • Proven media liaison skills across print, broadcast, online and social media.
  • Ability to analyse media coverage in the context of key messages across platforms.
