This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented Data Engineer to be part of a small team that plays a significant role in applying data modelling methods to ensure the development of efficient and reliable tables that correspond with Billing needs. Utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you will play a pivotal role in shaping how data analysts and wider teams connect with and consume this data.

What you’ll do:

  • Play a crucial role in bridging the gap between engineering and data analysis, ensuring required data is accessible, reliable, and prepared for analytical use.

  • Continuously optimize and tune data systems to improve performance and efficiency, this can involve rewriting queries & optimizing data models.

  • Implement processes that ensure high data quality and reliability, this includes data validation checks, anomaly detection, and remediation processes.

  • Work with the broader department to pro-actively identify and support opportunities to improve and modernise internal reporting processes.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the field of data analytics, exploring and potentially implementing new tools and methodologies.

  • Act as a technical authority and subject matter expert for the teams within Billing.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of success in developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, or Scala, as well as experience with relevant frameworks and libraries.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and analytically about data engineering challenges and develop innovative solutions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data engineering issues in a timely manner.
