This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented Data Engineer to be part of a small team that plays a significant role in applying data modelling methods to ensure the development of efficient and reliable tables that correspond with Billing needs. Utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you will play a pivotal role in shaping how data analysts and wider teams connect with and consume this data.
What you’ll do:
Play a crucial role in bridging the gap between engineering and data analysis, ensuring required data is accessible, reliable, and prepared for analytical use.
Continuously optimize and tune data systems to improve performance and efficiency, this can involve rewriting queries & optimizing data models.
Implement processes that ensure high data quality and reliability, this includes data validation checks, anomaly detection, and remediation processes.
Work with the broader department to pro-actively identify and support opportunities to improve and modernise internal reporting processes.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the field of data analytics, exploring and potentially implementing new tools and methodologies.
Act as a technical authority and subject matter expert for the teams within Billing.
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of success in developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, or Scala, as well as experience with relevant frameworks and libraries.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and analytically about data engineering challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data engineering issues in a timely manner.
