Role/Team overview
The Content Data Science team delivers complex data science products that use our first party viewing data, product, and customer transactional data to improve personalisation, inform program commissioning decisions and provide key content-based insight to Sky Studio. We deliver industry-leading data science solutions powered by viewing data and the latest Gen AI models.
What you’ll do –
- Develop data science products built on our rich data assets including product telemetry data, customer service interactions, viewing behaviour on multiple platforms, online engagement with Sky digital
- Provide actionable recommendations for content optimization and programming decisions based on data-driven insights.
- Create compelling visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Deliver robust, well-written code
- Work with our Machine Learning Engineers and Data Engineers to build and deploy compliant, efficient and scalable data science models
- Engage with key stakeholders (Sky Studio, Content and Strategy, Merchandising and Product management) to understand key business objectives and translate these into data science & analytical projects
- Keep up to date with innovations in data science, as well as new frameworks, continuously bringing innovative ideas into your work
What you’ll bring
Essential criteria:
- Proven commercial experience applying at least two advanced data science techniques, such as Predictive Modelling, Optimisation, Unsupervised Learning, or NLP.
- Experience building and deploying production-grade machine learning solutions at scale in a cloud environment.
- Strong Python programming skills with hands-on experience using machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or Keras.
- Experience working with large datasets, including ETL processes and scalable SQL development.
- Ability to translate business problems into data science solutions that deliver measurable commercial value.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience in causality, reinforcement learning, LLMs, graph analytics, telemetry data, BigQuery, or GCP Vertex AI.

How you’ll work
We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 2 days in the office per week.
