We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer (Windows) to join our dynamic IT support team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be the first point of contact for technical issues across hardware, software, and peripherals. You’ll ensure smooth day-to-day operations by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting end-user devices and work settings, while delivering exceptional customer service and collaborating with wider technical teams. 

What you'll do: 

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals. Provide tailored support for accessibility users and specialist equipment setups. 

  • Perform antivirus scans and remediate security alerts as directed. 

  • Provision hardware for new starters, loan requests, and leaver returns. Image and prepare devices for deployment using standard build procedures. 

  • Manage device returns, perform quality checks 

  • Maintain accurate asset records in ServiceNow, updating device status and location. Audit stockrooms regularly to ensure inventory accuracy and rotation. 

  • Manage and resolve ServiceNow tickets efficiently, prioritising high-impact issues. Provide timely updates to users and document all support activities. 

  • Support IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) tasks and desk-side equipment relocations. 

  • Create and maintain operational support documentation and standard operating procedures. 

What you'll bring: 

  • Proven technical expertise in Windows 10/11 support, including build, configuration, and registry settings, and ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms for incident and asset management

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and common peripherals (printers, MFDs, docking stations). 

  • Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft AND OEM (Dell/HP) are highly desirable

  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between Sky UK sites for equipment delivery and collection.

  • Strong customer focus with the ability to anticipate needs, clarify requirements, and deliver practical, sustainable solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills - clear, concise, and adaptable to both technical and non-technical audiences; active listening and objection handling.

  • Collaborative approach and a team player mindset which values others’ perspectives, motivates colleagues, and contributes to a positive, inclusive environment.

  • Proven ability to analyze problems, make sound decisions in ambiguous situations, and apply lateral thinking to resolve conflicts.

  • Creative and innovative mindset, open to experimenting with new approaches and tailoring solutions to evolving challenges.

  • Results-driven with exceptional time management, prioritization, and organizational skills to meet deadlines and objectives.

This is a site-based role located at one of Sky’s critical operations centres. Due to the hands-on nature of the work and the importance of maintaining real-time infrastructure, remote or hybrid working is not available for this position.
