As Distribution Platform Engineer you will be responsible to design, build and maintain cloud and onprem systems focusing on video acquisition, encoding processing and multi-distribution platform broadcasting and streaming for Italy, UK and Germany services. 

What you’ll do: 

• Work in a team that will build the next generation cloud video platform making sure that the best possible video experience is being delivered to our customers across all Sky’s propositions (Broadcast & OTT streaming) 

• Take part of architecture design of new systems 

• Work with team of developers to build multivendor system integration and automation tools using GitOps approach and CI/CD workflow. 

• Implement monitoring solutions for readiness and operational teams 

• Provide support to operational teams for both onprem and cloud video processing systems 

What you’ll bring: 

• Knowledge of cloud native technologies such as Containers/Kubernetes.  

• Knowledge of principal scripting languages like bash, python and Restful API. 

• Experience in the use of public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) in a production environment.  

• Knowledge of Broadcast standards (DVB-S/S2, Mpeg2 TS, ETR290) and broadcast equipment (encoders, multiplexers, modulators) is a plus.  

• Experience working with principal OTT streaming formats such as (HLS, DASH, Smooth Streaming), h.264, h.265 video streaming and encoding technologies.
