Sky News is looking for an ambitious, innovative Executive Producer with a proven record of delivering news-making journalism and working closely with high-profile talent. Managing the Political Editor Unit, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of multi-platform journalists, setting editorial priorities, and producing premium content from end to end.  From incisive political interviews to sharp video analysis, must-listen podcasts to longer-form storytelling; you’ll have exciting ideas and a clear strategy about how best to tell the stories that matter to our audiences.  With exceptional news judgement, you’ll have a deep understanding of Westminster politics and know how to translate it into agenda-setting content that cuts through the noise.

What you’ll do 

  • Lead a multi-platform team to deliver premium, impactful content that sets the agenda, ensuring it is high-quality and publication ready. 

  • Shape and manage editorial plans for the Political Editor, identifying the best formats and platforms to tell each story, with a clear strategy to maximise audience engagement. 

  • Provide clear, consistent communication, setting out plans and priorities for the Political Editor and team, and keeping senior newsroom leaders informed. 

  • Balance and prioritise competing editorial demands, and flexibly manage resource in a fast-paced news environment.  

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to help drive the growth and development of the Political Editor’s cross-platform portfolio, including the award-winning Electoral Dysfunction podcast. 


 

What you’ll bring  

  • Extensive experience as a multi-platform journalist, with a track record of identifying, developing, and delivering agenda-setting content. 

  • Proven ability to work closely with, and get the best from, high-profile talent. 

  • Exceptional editorial judgement, underpinned by a deep understanding of Westminster politics and the wider political landscape. 

  • Outstanding people-management skills, with experience leading teams and developing individuals to deliver premium, multi-platform storytelling. 

  • Expertise in video journalism, alongside a strong understanding of digital-first, video-led and emerging formats.

Sky News Millbank is in the heart of London, approximately a 5-minute walk from Westminster Tube Station. 

 

The nearest trains come into Waterloo, Vauxhall and Victoria, a 20-minute walk away. If you prefer to cycle, there are bike racks and shower facilities available.
