Public Policy Executive 

Sky is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Public Policy Executive to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain valuable skills and contribute to shaping Sky's policy agenda on critical issues. You will work closely with senior policy professionals and play a key role in research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement. We are looking for an enthusiastic, charismatic, and well-organised individual with excellent written and research skills. Most of all, we are looking for candidates with a deep interest in politics, public policy and government affairs across the media and digital industries with a thirst for learning.

What You'll Do: 

  • Support Policy Development: Assist senior colleagues in researching, analysing, and developing Sky's policy positions on key areas including digital inclusion, data protection, online safety, sustainability, and others relevant to Sky's business
  • Monitor Policy Landscape & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Track legislative and regulatory developments in the media and technology sectors, using established tools and methodologies.
    • Analyse the potential impact of these developments on Sky and support in the development of strategies that mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive stakeholder tracking system to identify and map key players in the policy landscape.
    • Participate in meetings and calls with government officials, industry representatives, and trade associations
  • Contribute to Policy Campaigns: Work with the team to develop and execute policy campaigns designed to influence the political landscape and achieve favourable outcomes for Sky.
  • Research & Communication: Conduct research and analysis to prepare clear and concise briefing documents, reports, and presentations on key policy issues.
  • Support Public Affairs Team: Provide ad hoc support to the wider Public Affairs team on initiatives or campaigns as needed to deliver our integrated Policy and Public Affairs strategy. 
  • External Activity Management: Assist with the management of Sky's external activity, including tasks related to planning contact programs, site visits, supporting high-profile events, and handling logistical requirements.

What You'll Bring: 

  • Sector Interest: Keen interest in the media, communications, and technology sectors.
  • Experience: experience in a relevant field or in a public-affairs or a policy-related role. 
  • Research & Analysis: Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present information effectively.
  • Proactive & Results-Oriented: A proactive and results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
  • Political curiosity: Demonstrable interest in policy and public affairs, with an understanding of the political process. 
  • Network Building: An appetite to build and expand your network of contacts across business, policy, and political spheres.

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There’s also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
