Your role will be focused on delivering excellent cost management and reporting through building a deep understanding of the key drivers and dynamics of our business. You'll play a key role in helping Sky to deliver its financials, partnering with business stakeholders to interpret and analyse financial performance, and use your influencing skills to provide recommendations on how to drive more value and deliver on Sky’s ambitious and stretching plans.

What you'll do:

  • Accurately record and analyse all costs associated with the business, ensuring compliance with contract terms, financial policies and controls. 

  • Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses to support business decision-making. 

  • Analyse supplier performance and costs to drive negotiations that optimise cost efficiency and supplier preference. 

  • Develop and maintain supplier reconciliation processes to ensure accurate and timely payments. 

  • Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts and working capital analysis to support financial planning. 

  • Support month-end close activities, including accruals, and reconciliations.  

  • Identify and implement efficiencies in financial processes, streamlining reporting and reconciliation activities. 

  • Build great business partnering relationships with the management team for your business area, being a trusted advisor and being able to both challenge and support with financial mentorship

What you'll bring: 

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). 

  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with experience in cost accounting. 

  • Experience in supplier reconciliation, contract analysis, and cost optimisation. 

  • An ability to demonstrate experience of the following within a finance role for a large, complex organisation in industry or practice; 

  • Ability to work at pace – we work in an agile, fast-moving way at Sky 

  • Comfortable with ambiguity – being able to provide clarity in complex situations, and guide decision making 

  • A strong eye for detail and knowing your numbers  

  • Strong analytics skills (Microsoft Excel, Tableau), and experience of preparing analysis, insight and turning into recommendations
