Financial Analyst

Role/Team overview  

We enable Sky to deliver accurate and compliant financial and external reporting, ensuring all key deadlines are met while maintaining the highest quality standards. Acting as a centre of excellence, the team manages a portfolio of approximately 100 entities and supports a broad range of accounting and reporting activities across the business.

Our remit includes monthly and quarterly reporting cycles, external reporting obligations, and involvement in corporate initiatives such as entity rationalisation, restructuring, and other ad-hoc projects.

We are looking for a candidate with a background in audit or strong experience working closely with auditors. You will support the team in delivering high-quality financial reporting and play a key role in ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across reporting processes.

What you’ll do 

• Support on the external audit process, liaising with the auditors and helping to ensure that the process is handled efficiently and effectively

• Prepare a portfolio of financial statements and manage them through audit, responding to queries and co-ordinating inputs

• Review financial statements prepared, ensuring a consistent high quality of output

• Co-ordinate on our goals with multiple stakeholders across different finance teams in order to drive effectiveness and ensure targets are hit

• Support on our month-end and quarter-end requirements, including our balance sheet ongoing reporting process

• Work on ad-hoc projects as they arise, such as one-off accounting / corporate actions, working with other teams to ensure that objectives are achieved

What you’ll bring   

Essential criteria:   

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent)

• Experience of statutory reporting and double entry accounting

• Audit experience or experience working through the statutory audit process

• Strong IT skills, particularly using Excel and PowerPoint

• Communication and time management skills, working with multiple stakeholders

Desirable skills and experience:  

• SAP system knowledge

How you’ll work  

We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 2 days in the office per week.  

Your office base 

Livingston

Sky Watermark is our central site for Livingston, sitting between Glasgow and Edinburgh. With vibrant office spaces, chill-out areas, and an onsite canteen, it’s a great place to work and connect.  

The nearest train station is Livingston North. A Sky shuttle bus runs between the station and campus every 20 minutes throughout the day. Plus, there’s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.
