Sky
Finishing Editor
Want to do the best work of your life? With 24 million customers in 6 countries, make your mark at Europe’s leading media and entertainment brand. A workplace where you can proudly be yourself; our people make Sky a truly exciting and inclusive place to work.
Working closely with Finishing Editors, Senior Colourists, Post Producers and Sky’s wider craft teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering polished, transmission-ready content to the highest broadcast standards. Blending strong technical expertise with creative judgement, you’ll help shape the final look and feel of a broad range of programming—continuing to develop and refine your craft across both long-form and short-form work.
A core part of the role is building trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders. You’ll be confident running attended sessions, interpreting creative briefs, managing expectations and translating feedback into exceptional final outputs. You’ll thrive both independently and collaboratively, balancing creative ambition with technical precision to ensure seamless finishing workflows and consistently excellent delivery.
What you’ll do:
Deliver high-quality online edits, colour grades and finished masters across Sky’s Arts, Factual, Current Affairs, Sport and short-form content.
Confidently run attended finishing and grading sessions, translating creative briefs and feedback into polished final outputs.
Perform broadcast-standard online editing tasks including conforms, editorial fine-tuning, re-versioning, stabilisation, basic VFX and clean-up.
Prepare and manage content across SDR, HDR and UHD workflows, ensuring readiness for colour, audio and final delivery.
Rebuild and manage conforms using Avid, Baselight and DaVinci Resolve, maintaining accurate relinks, media integrity and metadata.
Carry out detailed technical QC across picture, graphics, captions and standards compliance, flagging issues early with clear solutions.
Deliver final masters for broadcast, OTT, international and screening outputs, including Colorfront where required.
Collaborate closely with offline edit, audio, post production, edit ops and senior craft colleagues to ensure smooth end-to-end delivery.
What you’ll bring:
Strong working knowledge of Baselight, with DaVinci Resolve experience ideally gained in a broadcast or high-end post-production environment.
Proven ability to deliver high-quality colour grades and online edits that meet creative briefs with minimal supervision.
Solid understanding of HDR workflows, colour science, LUTs, colour spaces and common camera formats.
Excellent attention to detail and the technical confidence to troubleshoot colour, media and pipeline issues.
A calm, professional and solutions-focused approach when working directly with clients and stakeholders.
Strong organisation and time management skills, comfortable handling parallel projects and tight deadlines.
Experience working in a fast-paced broadcast or facility environment with frequent changes and quick turnarounds.
Evidence within the last 12 months of at least three episodic colour grades and three episodic online edits at mainstream broadcast standard.
