Want to do the best work of your life? Make your mark at Europe’s leading media and entertainment brand. A workplace where you can proudly be yourself; our people make Sky a truly exciting and inclusive place to work.

As a vital member of Sky News' High-Risk, Safety, and Security team, you will be instrumental in delivering industry-leading risk management solutions for foreign and home high-risk news gathering operations. You will ensure safety, consistency, and efficiency across all high-risk assignments, supporting the broader Sky News team in producing high-quality journalism in challenging and often hostile environments, with a strong understanding of the unique demands and operational objectives of journalism.

Whilst this role involves risk management and safety support, it is not a deployable position. It is an office based, hybrid working role at our HQ in Osterley and requires a level of flexibility to work out of hours on occasion to support breaking news.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with Experts: Work with High-Risk, Safety, and Security leaders to develop risk management solutions and share best practices in industry forums.

  • Conduct Threat Assessments: Research and analyse open-source intelligence to deliver comprehensive threat assessments for informed risk management.

  • Foster Partnerships: Build strong relationships with Sky News teams and Sky Group Security to ensure effective risk management.

  • Manage Risk Assessments: Create and update risk assessments for Sky News deployments, ensuring compliance with best practices.

  • Post-Deployment Reporting: Conduct after-action reviews to assess and improve risk management strategies.

  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Align Sky News procedures with safety standards and manage compliance with regulations.

What you'll bring:

  • Risk Management Expertise: Passionate and experienced in high-stakes risk management, with strong project management and planning skills.

  • News or Production Experience: Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced news or production environment.

  • Collaborative and Communicative: Team player with effective communication skills, able to adapt and deliver briefings and reports.

  • Tech-Savvy and Detail-Oriented: Embraces new technologies, with a methodical approach to risk management and attention to detail.

  • Regulatory and Investigative Skills: Understanding of international safety regulations and expertise in incident investigation and report generation.
