The Sky Sports Insight team supports both short- and long-term strategic projects and plans associated to Sky Sports Channels, Rights, Content and Business Development. The role will provide insight to support the development and implementation of Sky Sports strategy to elevate and drive performance across all platforms. Alongside this, the role has responsibility for market and customer research aiding the development of new business and commercial plans. 

Reporting to the Insight Lead, the role of Insight Manager offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of projects, influence future decision making in terms of commercial plans, programming and content development and rights acquisition and strategy.

What you will do:

  • Lead across a range of projects, including regular trackers, ad hoc requests, bespoke analysis and ad hoc commissioned research
  • Proactively identify business / strategic needs and be responsible for ad hoc projects involving customer feedback
  • Ensure content teams understand Sky viewers and their content / channel perceptions and preferences across both linear and streaming platforms
  • Provide insights based on complex analysis of viewing data from BARB and Sky internal sources
  • Continuously develop the methodologies employed to improve content & commercial decision making
  • Portfolio strategy: Health-checks; driving engagement on all linear & non-linear products amongst target audiences
  • Business Development: Identify and exploit insight tools to support the development of new business strategies and plans through ad hoc research, market analysis & segmentation,  products health check
  • Content research: End of  event / season analysis and insight, providing clear recommendations to the content teams

As one of the first points of contact for content research for the business, key relationships include:
 

  • Strategy, Business Development and & Rights Acquisitions
  • Content teams: Directors of Content, Planning, Scheduling, Production
  • Proposition & Marketing
  • Products Analytics

What you will bring;

  • Insight experience at least at Senior Analyst/Exec level working in media, preferably at a TV broadcaster
  • TV audience measurement & analysis systems (Techedge)
  • Linear & non-linear television markets, digital and social media engagement platforms, emerging trends in viewing & engagement behaviour
  • Experience in running projects using a wide range of research methodologies: qualitative/quantitative, online panels, data analysis, segmentation
  • Ability to quickly build relationships with key stakeholders and influence decision making at a senior level
  • Manage multiple stakeholder research requirements & priorities
  • Ability to provide conclusions/recommendations for key stakeholders which are based on evidence from research & analysis carried out by you or other members of the team
  • Clearly & confidently present or communicate findings/insights at a senior level
  • A passion for sports and understanding of the sports rights market
  • Have an enquiring mind that thrives on new challenges, a positive attitude towards problem solving and a dynamic environment
  • Highly numerate and statistically literate with a high level of attention to detail.
