Sky’s Group Communications and Infrastructure is responsible for the architecture, design and planning of Sky’s Broadband, Mobile, Telephony networks and Cloud infrastructure. The directorate has initiated an internship programme seeking full-time interns, where the roles are available on a Fixed Term Contract basis for 12-months.

A range of pre and post-graduate levels projects have been identified which tackle challenges within a Telecommunications context including: networks, software development, agile implementation, business analysis, data engineering, cloud, devops, operations research, economics, analytics and statistics.

You will work with Senior Developers, Network Engineers, Network Data Scientists and Business stakeholders who will support you to improve your knowledge and skill sets.

What you'll do

• Support the creation and enhancement of domain dashboards using SQL and Grafana to visualize network performance and operational metrics.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of capacity planning building blocks, including: feature development, release support, reliability improvements (QA/unit testing), maintenance tasks

• Participate in the migration of Git repositories from GitLab to GitHub, ensuring continuity in CI/CD pipelines and version control practices.

• Engage with cross-functional teams to learn best practices in DevOps, data science, and software engineering, while contributing to agile delivery.

What you’ll bring

• Education: BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Mindset: Proactive, fast learner, and passionate about solving real-world problems.

• SQL & Python: For dashboarding, analytics, and software development.

• DevOps Tools: Exposure to CI/CD, Git, and cloud-native environments.

• Communication: Clear and effective verbal and written communication.

• Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn new tools and frameworks.

Our Brick Lane office is in the heart of the East End of London. It’s part of a vibrant and varied community; close to street food, cafes, and shops.

The closest tube station is Aldgate East and Liverpool Street is about a 10-minute walk.
