sky Group Procurement department is looking to reinforce the Professional Services team to establish, drive and manage business-critical initiatives during 2022 to support sky Long Range Plan to 2025.  

The role will provide Strategic and Tactical benefits to the business and the wider sky group organization (UK&I, ITA, DE, Austria, Spain and Switzerland) working in connection with the Comcast/NBCU team.

The role will be primarily responsible for the supporting strategies and executing on external procurement, sourcing, and contracting of professional services for the network domain and leading the transformation required to support sky business strategies.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the category to support sky network strategy improving efficiency and effectiveness

  • Support & execute domain led category sourcing strategies to drive cost transformation & partner portfolio simplification initiatives

  • Establish link-pin role between teams encompassing Sky, Comcast and NBCU to deliver Enterprise-wide optimal sourcing solutions

  • Identify cross-company synergy and optimisation initiatives, collaborate with relevant stakeholders across geographies & entities to execute plans across strategic suppliers

  • Track diverse strategic initiative across Sky, Comcast and NBCU, ensuring executive management is regularly briefed on progress and associated synergy benefits (savings, cost-avoidance, etc.)

  • Interface across groups and divisions to ensure up-to-date and accurate mapping of spend, savings, strategic initiatives, etc. of certain suppliers across multiple procurement spend categories 

  • Drive complex contracting (MOU, Supply Agreements, etc.) negotiations. to capture resulting E2E strategic initiatives

  • Monitor industry trends and M&A activities with impact assessments for relevant Suppliers / Ecosystem 

  • Improve value added delivered by strategic vendors (innovation, quality, productivity, time to market)

What you'll bring:

  • Experienced leader with expertise in technology procurement or management roles in a large tech company

  • Strong technical background in procurement and vendor management including a deep understanding of the best practices and appreciation of various relevant technology domains like Broadband, Video, IoT, Mobile 

  • Understanding of the global technology landscape and the players in this space

  • Understanding of the technology, cable, and communications landscape in the UK, Europe and across the globe  

  • Strong finance and accounting  skillset 

  • Proficient in comprehending complex contracts with extensive exposure to Source to Pay lifecycle

  • Strong negotiation skills in managing critical suppliers & stakeholders

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office platform

  • Experience working in global delivery environments 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Finance/ Accounting, Technology or Engineering

  • Travel may be required, with occasional out-of-office working necessary
