Sky News is looking for an experienced and creative podcast producer to work on our award-winning politics podcast, Electoral Dysfunction.

 

You will be immersed in politics and have ambitious ideas on how to turn the expertise of Beth Rigby, Ruth Davidson and Harriet Harman into compelling audio and video.

 

We’re after evidence of creative flair as well as someone who has a CV which shows they’ve worked on politics podcasts with big name presenters and helped deliver audience growth. 

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Record, edit and publish Sky News podcasts and vodcasts
  • Write scripts, structure episodes, brief presenters and guests
  • Be across the political agenda with ideas for story topics and guests.
  • Devise and develop new formats
  • Help to grow our audience with editorial impact
  • Have evidence of compelling ideas for social and visual treatments and our YouTube offering

 

What you'll bring:

 

  • Experience and imagination producing podcasts with a flair for mixing audio creatively and effectively. We’re after someone who uses the Adobe editing products, Riverside and Descript. Experience editing video is a plus.
  • A firm grasp of national and international news, politics and current affairs
  • An in-depth knowledge of the news podcast market 
  • Extensive studio operating, recording, and editing experience
  • An understanding of community management and connecting with audiences
  • Flexibility and a commitment to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues
  • All applications MUST be accompanied by examples of your audio production work
