Sky News is seeking an ambitious digital political reporter to be a key member of our Westminster team. The successful candidate will cover the big political events of the day and generate original and exclusive stories.

What You'll Do: 

·       Pitch and report political stories from breaking news to original exclusives.

·       Cover daily politics live as part of Sky News’ PoliticsHub live blog.

·       Uphold Sky News’ standards of accuracy.

·       Work both independently and as part of a team.

·       Cultivate political contacts in order to break stories.

What You'll Bring: 

·       A keen eye for political stories and an understanding of the political landscape

·       A track record of finding, writing and producing stories to a high standard for recognised news organisations – whether national or local.

·       First class news-writing ability (including flawless written English).

·       The ability to spot a top line, know-how to refresh a story and keep it moving.

·       Great communication skills both verbal and written and demonstrable ability to work under pressure.

·       A contact book including politicians, civil servants and relevant stakeholders.

·       Willingness to adjust your work patterns when events require.
