The Field Operations and Physical Infrastructure team is at the heart of Sky's technical infrastructure and plays a major part in Sky’s success.  Our focus is on delivering the highest quality connectivity services, enabling Sky to offer the best products in the market.  We maintain critical infrastructure that is key to the successful operation of Sky services, including Sky Broadband, Sky Fibre, Sky Talk, Sky Mobile, as well as TV services such as Sky Glass and Sky Stream. 

This role includes work pattern of: Mon – Fri 09.00-17.30, and a call out rota, currently 1 in 5 weeks.  

What you'll do 

  • Deliver daytodayhandson maintenance across a portfolio of 40+ Sky Network Services technical sites, taking ownership for the condition, safety and performance of your allocated buildings 
  • Carry out firstlook reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of M&E plant, including generators, LV electrical systems (410/230v), HVAC components and general building services 
  • Diagnose and resolve faults on building infrastructure, escalating issues where required, and completing routine tasks such as A/C filter changes, lamp replacements, generator runs and basic housekeeping at PoP sites 
  • Provide AC/DC power connections for customer rack installations and use engineering drawings, manuals and documentation to support safe and accurate work 
  • Oversee and coordinate thirdparty contractors on site, ensuring quality, compliance and safe working practices, and support other Sky Network Services teams as a trusted, collaborative colleague 
  • Contribute to project delivery by carrying out or supervising works, identifying uplift or maintenance needs, and supporting budget planning and costsaving initiatives 
  • Follow established processes and procedures, proactively highlighting improvements, and submitting clear site reports covering routine completion, issues and future requirements 
  • Work flexibly across the UK, including extensive travel, overnight stays, overtime and participation in a 24/7 callout rota (subject to future review) 

What you'll bring 

  • A recognised electrical or mechanical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 2356 or equivalent) with proven experience in lowvoltage electrical installation to BS7671 standards. General site technical maintenance or experience in cooling systems. 
  • Solid handson experience in property, building services or M&E maintenance within technical or criticalinfrastructure environments 
  • Working knowledge of generators, LV electrical systems and building plant, with confidence interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation 
  • Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety legislation, with experience conducting safety audits and risk assessments aligned to NEBOSH standards 
  • Strong problemsolving skills, able to identify issues, gather relevant data and evaluate corrective options while managing workload effectively 
  • Excellent relationshipbuilding skills, able to work confidently with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders at all levels, and provide support at other sites when tasks require multiple personnel 
  • Adaptability and flexibility, comfortable with changing work locations at short notice, extensive regional travel and varying operational demands 
  • PC literacy, including MS Office and Outlook, with the ability to produce clear daytoday reports, updates and site documentation 
  • Full UK driving licence, and willing to travel between the sites (a company van will be provided)
