The Programme Manager, Syndication Partnerships will be responsible for the end-to-end technology delivery of partnership initiatives for Showmax, Africa's newest streaming service. As a seasoned programme and project management professional, the candidate will lead and partner across a global organization to ensure partnership initiatives are successfully planned and delivered across Showmax’s footprint in Africa. 

This position will report to the Sr. Director, Syndication and will work in a highly matrixed structure across Global Streaming. The candidate will also partner closely with the wider Syndication team, contributing to shared reporting, governance, and delivering prioritized, strategic optimization initiatives set to add value and improve our ways of working. 

 

What you'll do 

  • Partnerships Roadmap, Programme & Project Management 

  • Aggregate and present a consolidated roadmap of partnership initiatives for Showmax, providing stakeholders with clear visibility and understanding of delivery status. 

  • Raise and manage program and project risks, issues, actions, and dependencies with stakeholders to ensure robust delivery planning and execution.  

  • Partnerships Delivery Governance  

  • Establish and enforce partnerships delivery governance, internally within Global Streaming and externally with Showmax and third-party partners. 

  • Support Showmax monthly roadmap reviews, as well as bi-weekly delivery board meetings to maintain alignment across all stakeholders and project streams. 

  • End-to-End Plans & Cross-Functional Leadership 

  • Create and maintain end-to-end program and project plans to support partnerships delivery, collaborating with product, architecture, engineering, and delivery teams across Global Streaming, Showmax, and third-party partners to integrate key milestones, activities, dependencies, and overall timelines. 

  • Serve as a point of escalation for Showmax’s partnerships roadmap, providing guidance and support to resolve any critical risks or issues. 

  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting  

  • Facilitate clear, effective communication and regular reporting on progress, tailored to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, internal and external.  

  • Ensure partnerships reporting is integrated with and fulfils wider Showmax, Syndication, and Global Delivery reporting obligations. 

  • Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement 

  • Collaborate with QA, Product, Proposition and trials teams to ensure outputs are rigorously tested before deployment, maintaining a high standard of quality.  

  • Strive for continuous improvement in partnership processes and procedures, identify, propose and implement changes to ensure a productive and effective organisation 

 

What you'll bring 

  • Extensive experience in program or project management in a telecommunications, media, or technology company managing large scale, complex programs of work.  

  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent, background in technology or engineering a significant plus; relevant project or program management qualification.  

  • Strategic and pragmatic with excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to tailor to all levels of an organization. 

  • Strong self-starter, able to come up to speed quickly and contribute to a diverse set of technical areas, without requiring significant oversight and direction. 

  • Ability to effectively present ideas and key insights in all communications with senior leadership teams 

  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate and influence team members from multiple internal departments and external vendors, including those outside of direct purview 

  • Pro-active approach to delivery, identifying and neutralizing threats to success; positive approach to addressing conflict 

  • Calm under pressure, flexible to changing circumstances and able to make quick and rational decisions and maintain the focus of the team
