As a Publicist for Sky News, you will report into Sky’s Corporate Affairs department and focus on the beating heart of the newsroom. Working at pace, you will play a key role in promoting the Sky News brand, talent, content and platforms.

Please note this role may require you to be on call on evenings and weekends. It is a 12-month contract.

What you'll do:

  • Work with the team to define PR strategies that support the Sky News business objectives.

  • Plan and deliver campaigns to promote the best of Sky News – including our on-screen talent, platforms, and content like investigations, documentaries and podcasts.

  • Work closely with the Sky News Talent Director on publicity opportunities and to develop the personal brands of our people.

  • Establish relationships with the Sky News editorial teams to help promote the best of our premium content.

  • Collaborate with teams across Sky News and Sky including consumer engagement, marketing, public affairs, product and internal communications to ensure that the Sky News brand is consistently and effectively represented across channels.

  • Write press releases and other press materials as needed to the highest standard, researching and fact checking information as required.

  • Support delivery of live events B2B, B2C and with high-value stakeholders.
     

What you'll bring:

  • Experience working on high-profile consumer campaigns, managing talent and all aspects of talent publicity including interviews, photoshoots, and event appearances.

  • Passion for the media sector and current affairs, a strong understanding of Sky News and Sky, consumer, TV, or entertainment sectors, highly desirable.

  • Confidence in pitching and landing coverage, with an instinct for what makes a story and the ability to build and maintain key relationships with a network of print, broadcast and online contacts.

  • The ability to work at pace and across multiple projects, be resilient and flexible under pressure.
