Role/Team overview

As a Content Quality Control Operator, you will assess Sky’s linear and on-demand content before release across platforms including Sky Glass, Sky Q and NOW, ensuring video and audio quality meet the high standards our customers expect. One day you may review fast-turnaround Premier League highlights: the next, a major movie premiere. You will assess SD, HD, SDR and HDR picture formats, alongside Atmos, 5.1 and stereo audio mixes, and ensure content is free from defects. You will also enrich content metadata, including timecode markers such as the start of end credits.

What you’ll do

 •            This role sits within the Content Quality Control team, which is responsible for assuring the quality of Sky’s linear, VOD and OTT content.

•            You will validate the output of automated quality-checking tools using spot checks and full assessments.

•            You will accurately record assessment data to support clear reporting and continuous service improvement.

•            You will identify marker points in content to support features such as skipping opening titles and end credits.

What you’ll bring

•            Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to delivering great service.

•            A strong team player mindset, with the ability to collaborate effectively, support others and contribute positively to team performance and culture.

•            Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure, business-critical environment.

•            A passion for great content.

•            Understanding of common audio and video quality issues.

•            A strong work ethic, with flexibility, conscientiousness, and a collaborative approach.

•            Ability to work a rotating shift pattern covering 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Essential criteria:

  • You will work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads around release dates and times.

  • You will actively contribute as part of a team, collaborating across shifts, sharing knowledge, and supporting colleagues to ensure consistent delivery and team success.

  • You will manage queries from internal and external clients, helping ensure audio and video quality meets the standards expected of a premium content provider.

  • You will investigate errors quickly, identify root causes and recommend solutions.

 Desirable skills and experience:

•            Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively across multiple deadlines.

•            Ability to take ownership of key work areas and solve problems proactively.
