The Corporate Communications team sits at the heart of the business. In this role you will have a particular focus on protecting and building Sky’s reputation, supporting the Corporate Comms leadership team with managing the always on press office and delivering external communications plans against the business strategy and corporate narrative.

We are looking for a Corporate Comms expert with a track record in reputation management and delivering impactful comms to key corporate audiences. You will have enjoyed working in a high-pressure, fast paced press office, will be organised, good at managing systems and processes, and a natural at building relationships both internally and externally.

You will be a self-starter and an expert multi-tasker who is comfortable being across a wide range of projects at any one time and able to prioritise accordingly.  You will also be confident and experienced at managing others, ensuring the team’s high standards are upheld.

What You'll Do: 

  • Press office issues management, including responding and resolving media enquiries ,
  • Regular media engagement, including developing and maintaining great relationships with business media, news editors, media writers and columnists,
  • Understanding and advising on the regulatory environments in which Sky operates,
  • Overseeing PR plans for individual campaigns – reviewing campaign strategies including objectives, key messages, media targets and KPIs, to ensure they are well thought out and will help deliver against the overall department and business objectives,
  • Building and developing external relationships, including key industry contacts
  • Provide counsel to management and different business departments on corporate reputation, and ensure that they are appropriately supported and prepared for media activity and other external engagements, 
  • Partner with public and regulatory affairs colleagues to support Sky’s policy objectives, managing our reputation in a dynamic environment,
  • Regular senior management liaison across Sky,
  • Responsibility for some event management including media days, press events,
  • Budget setting and management.

What You'll Bring: 

  • Significant corporate communications experience in a highly regulated organisation,
  • A deep understanding of media relations and reputation management,
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including for press releases, social content, presentations and reports,
  • Good relationships with relevant media across national and trade press, 
  • Creativity and ability to proactively generate press coverage for priority campaigns,
  • Ability to take a lead on issues management,
  • Good planning skills, able to plan and implement work accordingly,
  • A strong understanding of Sky’s wider business priorities,
  • Proven media liaison skills across print, broadcast, online and social media,
  • A passion for news and media.
