As Senior Manager, Future Talent & Development, you will lead on the Sky Sports’ Future Talent & Development programmes. You will work with the Head of Workforce Operations and key stakeholders across the business to ensure a fair, consistent & relevant approach to development is delivered, in line with changing business needs. You will collaborate with key partners to guarantee a strategic, resilient Future Talent programme. The role will support the Head of Workforce Operations & be an integral part of the Workforce Operations department, which provides key support functions to over one thousand Sky Sports employees. 

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead the Sky Sports Future Talent programme across bands 2 & 3 roles, including collaborating with Sky Recruitment & key partners, to deliver an effective recruitment process ensuring a diverse & inclusive approach.  

  • Be informed on wider career & development initiatives across Sky, ensuring Sky Sports is involved for maximum benefit. 

  • Line manage the Sky Sports Future Talent team, ensuring direct reports & all those in the future talent cohorts have a clear understanding of objectives, development goals & available support. 

  • Work with the Head of Workforce Operations to devise a sustainable & inclusive outreach programme to the benefit of departmental goals. 

  • Be an active promoter of development for everyone at Sky Sports, including working with key partners to communicate development offerings to the benefit of the department in a timely & relevant way. 

  • Support the Head of Workforce Operations with the creation and roll out of staff development training as required, including proactively managing Sky Sports’ interaction with Sky Learn, ensuring content is relevant, meets departmental goals & is accessible to all. 

  • Proactively represent Sky Sports across the company, being consistently curious & open, to support a truly diverse & inclusive culture. 

  • Regularly communicate progress & data on key initiatives to Sky Sports leadership to inform future planning. 

  • Support the HoWO & the Workforce Operations team with project work as required. 

 

 

What you’ll bring: 

  • Excellent relationship management: experience in building open, trusting, respectful relationships at all levels. 

  • An understanding of television production & Sky Sports roles: Knowledge of all Sky Sports’ roles and being able to adapt wider Sky development to the specific challenges & development requirements of working in a predominately live, shift-based environment are key.  

  • Line management: experience in managing a team is essential for this role. 

  • The ability to develop others: training/experience in mentoring or coaching would also be beneficial. 

  • An active & informed interest in diversity & inclusion: An understanding of Sky’s approach to diversity & inclusion and how that can benefit future careers & development at Sky Sports. 

  • A proactive, forward-thinking approach:  the role will be expected to initiate well informed, outcome driven, strategically relevant plans with foresight. 

  • Ability to interpret data: the ability to define key metrics, gather results & translate to a wide audience in a responsible way. 

  • Presentation skills: the role will provide regular reporting to leadership in a clear, succinct, and relatable way.
