Senior Operations Manager - Sky Studios

Reporting into the Head of Operations, The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Sky Studios across general policy compliance, business reporting, content traffic and delivery.

Key priorities for the role include delivery against Sky Studios’ operational strategy, ensuring best practice, company policy alignment and continuous improvement across Sky Studios’ ways of working, process, systems and tools. The Senior Operations Manager deputises the Head of Operations as required and ensures timely delivery of all Sky Studios Original and distributed content to global partners as per Commercial strategy.
 

What you’ll do:

• Ownership and delivery of all Sky Studios policy and process documentation, aligning/producing/updating as required and in line with company standards and legal requirements.

• Managing day to day compliance in practice, supporting colleagues within Sky Studios through changes, updates and issues; driving process standardisation wherever possible.

• Delivery of risk tracking, reporting and business assurance with regular analysis; contributing into business strategy and decisions.

• Business alignment with People, Compliance, Enterprise Technology, Group Resilience and H&S departments to support Sky Studios performance.

• Oversee material delivery of Sky Originals across Sky Group (DE and IT) and key international partners; driving commercial success through timely delivery and of international partners’ requirements being met.

• Design and documentation of relevant workflows, guidelines and SLAs to feed into Sky, NBCU and Comcast audit process; owner of regular reports and controls.

• Delivering operational improvements in line with CGA findings and ensure Content Security guidance adhered to internally across all material/asset management workflows within and between Sky Studios and wider Sky, developing influencing relationships with key stakeholders and removing barriers to success.

• Working closely with Production Management, running operational elements of productions, supporting broader business alignment across scripted and factual content (including in-house titles), feeding into production manuals, systems and processes.

• Identifying operational risks and opportunities, working with the Head of Operations to establish and implement the operational strategy for Sky Studios.

• Change management/delivery of strategic and tactical projects as required.
   

What you’ll bring:

• A minimum of three years’ experience in a senior operations role in the television industry

• Proven track record of change/project management and implementation of efficient/effective processes and documentation

• Strong senior stakeholder and relationship management skills

• Outstanding communication and presentation skills

• Strong commercial skills and overall financial understanding

• Good knowledge of end-to-end TV production processes

• Good understanding of business strategy

• Knowledge of content management and rights management systems is preferable.

• Analytical and problem solving skills.

• Knowledge and experience of sustainable practice (production or otherwise) and understanding of carbon emission data desirable.

• Technical knowledge of media management, formats and deliverables is desirable.
