As Senior Technology Procurement Manager in the Infrastructure category looking after Physical Hardware, Hardware Support Services, Data Centres, Value Add Resellers and Public/Private Cloud, you will establish and drive the strategic direction for Infrastructure within Sky’s Group Procurement function which operates across Comcast Enterprise Procurement (Sky Group, Comcast and NBCU). This role is an individual contributor role, interacting with business units to drive strategic and business as usual activity, including various Product and Technology areas, Finance and Legal.
What you’ll do:
- Work with and report to the Group Head of Broadcast & Infrastructure Procurement to deliver against Enterprise Procurement objectives across Sky Group, Comcast and NBCU.
- Leverage a deep understanding of the factors, dynamics, and industry challenges regarding Infrastructure to structure, establish, and drive category strategies that leverage our global scale. This experience will enable you to lead associated category initiatives (such as RFx, category strategies), including understanding and communicating industry trends, selecting vendors and driving associated negotiations at the most senior level both internally and externally, and executing optimal contracts.
- Develop and manage an ecosystem of strategic suppliers to achieve optimal partnerships to drive and deliver tangible results.
- Manage BAU renewals and capex purchases for the infrastructure categories.
- Mitigate risks associated with the current market and infrastructure trends.
- Deliver defined savings targets and cost transformation programs across all spend categories under management, leveraging synergy opportunities across the wider organisation with a vigorous approach towards TCO. Work closely and proactively with the business to identify new savings opportunities and efficiencies across managed spend.
- Drive standardised and centralised reporting (e.g., pricing, volumes, spend, savings, contracts, quarterly business reviews, etc.), support relevant category initiatives and coordinate with key stakeholders to drive global contracting across Sky.
- Have the ability to interface and influence across categories and companies. Build, maintain, and influence stakeholder relationships across Sky to ensure clear alignment between procurement and wider business planning.
What you’ll bring:
- Industry Expert: the depth and breadth of expertise in Technology Procurement.
- Strategic Leadership: the ability to establish and drive the strategic direction for critical categories on a global basis, and to execute sub-initiatives under such higher-level strategy.
- Analytical Thinking: the ability to independently carry out complex analysis and build commercial models to drive data driven leverage in negotiations.
- Category Strategy: experience writing, developing, and maintaining Procurement category strategies.
- Creative Thinking: The natural inclination to evaluate and challenge business-as-usual practices with an open-minded, “always learning,” and proactive mindset, informed by a deep understanding of the factors and challenges across the infrastructure landscape.
- Relationship Management Skills: The ability to collaborate with others and build relationships across multiple business units across international geographies.
- Company-Minded: The lean-in and hands-on attitude of an “owner, not a renter,” with high standards for work performance, the commitment to always do the right thing, and the vision to maximise procurement’s contribution to the wider company’s goals and objectives. This also includes the capability to thrive in a dynamic setting and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Act as a role model: by coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team.
