Role/Team overview

Coming up with fresh ideas. Pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Creating unforgettable customer experiences. Our Global Design team makes things happen. That’s why we’re at the heart of delivering the hardware and software for devices that keep our customers entertained. From UX and UI to product strategy and hardware engineering, we bring new devices like Sky Glass and Sky Live to life at top speed and support them throughout the product and engineering lifecycles.

Join the team shaping the future of Sky Sports. As a Product Designer, you’ll create fast, slick and unforgettable digital experiences across mobile, web and TV bringing live sport, breaking news and epic sporting moments to millions of fans. You’ll be part of the team behind Sky Sports award-winning digital products, pushing boundaries and setting new standards in how fans follow the sports they love. If you thrive on pace, love solving complex design challenges and want to work at the heart of the action, this is your chance to get involved.

What you’ll do

  • Design and own end-to-end experiences that power one of the most exciting digital products at Sky, bringing the world of live sport, breaking news, stats, highlights and immersive content to millions of fans across mobile apps, web and TV experiences.

  • Turn complex sporting moments, data-rich environments, stories and evolving fan behaviours into simple, intuitive and emotionally engaging designs that elevate how fans follow the teams, players and competitions they love.

  • Lead complex product initiatives within your squad, taking work from early discovery and problem definition through to polished, production-ready UI and post-launch optimisation.

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, engineers, UX researchers, data specialists and editorial partners to bring ideas to life at pace, proactively shaping direction and challenging assumptions, taking work from early exploration through to polished, production-ready UI.

  • Explore and design for the future of sports viewing, including personalised feeds, interactive match centres, new content formats, companion experiences, mobile-to-TV interactions and experimental AI-powered features, applying sound judgement to what delivers meaningful fan value.

  • Create clear user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity visuals that shape the next generation of Sky Sports’ digital experiences, ensuring a seamless experience across all platforms and a high level of interaction quality and coherence.

  • Drive forward the evolution of our shared design patterns and components, identifying opportunities to strengthen scalability and consistency within a coherent, scalable design system that supports both rapid delivery and creative innovation.

  • Play an active role in championing design quality, accessibility and user-centred thinking within the squads, helping maintain a strong, collaborative design culture, acting as a senior voice and supporting more junior designers through feedback and example.

What you’ll bring

  • Significant experience working as a digital product designer (UX/UI), with clear evidence of owning complex features or product areas from early discovery through to high-quality visual execution and live delivery.

  • A portfolio available for review at the point of application, demonstrating strong strategic thinking, user-centred design process, clear problem framing and high-quality work across mobile, web or multi-surface digital experiences.

  • Demonstrable ability to operate independently in iterative delivery environments (e.g., Agile), shaping problem definition, influencing scope and partnering effectively with engineers, product managers, UX researchers and other cross-functional roles.

  • Strong experience using user research, analytics and insight to inform meaningful design decisions, validate direction and iterate post-launch.

  • Experience working with and evolving design systems, contributing to, refining or extending components and patterns to ensure scalable and consistent experiences across platforms.

  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale to stakeholders, influence decisions and contribute positively to collaborative team culture.

  • A strong awareness of emerging design and technology trends, with the judgement to distinguish between experimentation and meaningful product impact.

  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma) and a strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
