What you'll do 

• Build, lead and motivate virtual, cross-functional project teams centred around the delivery of a common objective set out by the Programme Sponsor(s). Be the calm voice of reason and keep your team focused on achieving against our key priorities. 

• Build strong relationships with the Programme Sponsor(s), and other influential stakeholders. Become a trusted and credible delivery resource by understanding the needs of your stakeholders. 

• Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to other members of the team, and identify opportunities for improvement to team processes and operating procedures. Take a proactive approach in seeing these opportunities through from ideation to operations. 

• Demonstrate excellent understanding of your Project Initiation Brief, including the project objective, outcomes, scope and benefits justification, and how the initiative strategically aligns with organisation cyber goals. 

• Plan and execute multiple projects across several Cyber Security domains, targeted at uplifting the organisation’s ability to identify, protect, detect, respond and recover to potential security incidents. These domains include Security Monitoring, Security Engineering and Cloud Security, and the management of projects from ideation to operational acceptance. 

• Implement robust governance, communicating and reporting to keep your stakeholders consulted or informed, as appropriate, on project status, progress and setbacks. You will ensure processes are in place for timely identification and mitigation of project risk. 

• Demonstrate full control of your projects by maintaining excellent project hygiene, including up-to-date views on project forecasts, strong change control, and risk, assumption, issue & dependency management. You will ensure all project deliverables are sufficiently quality assured and appropriately accepted by your customer. 

• Continuously review the scope set out for in-flight projects, constantly questioning and reevaluating the benefits justification of projects against the organisation’s risk landscape. 

What you'll bring 

• Demonstrable experience of building cross-functional delivery teams and delivering in a fast-paced environment to a common set of objectives, whilst encouraging innovation and creativity. 

• Demonstrable experience of delivering technology projects, in domain areas such as, but not limited to, Telecommunications and Enterprise Networks, Cloud and Infrastructure. 

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills. 

• Examples of challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities for, and implementing, improvements in ways of working to benefit the team. Being able to recognise and act when things are not working. 

• Proven experience of managing people, as well as mentoring more junior members of the delivery team. 

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and principles, as well as a recognised project management qualification such as PMP. Strong financial governance is a must-have, to track actuals, forecasts and estimate to complete. 

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with confidence. Experience engaging with Director and Executive level stakeholders, with examples. 

• Experience managing large-scale projects, and multiple projects in parallel, overcoming challenges faced creatively and adopting a fail-fast mentality. 

• A positive attitude towards ambiguity and fast-paced change. 

• Though experience of working in Cyber Security is not required, a keen interest in the subject matter with a willingness to learn is key. We’re looking for a leader who can get the best out of a team who have the subject matter knowledge.
