This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sky Data Viewing team as a Senior Scrum Master. You will join a Data Engineering and Visualisation team developing data products from design through the full product cycle. You will facilitate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality reporting & visualisation products against agreed roadmaps.    

What you'll do 

• Co-ordinate with other Scrum teams on technical dependencies between the teams.  

• Structured and transparent approach to agile planning, monitor progress and react to change; ensuring all relevant parties are aware of the team’s progress and ability to deliver.  

• Exemplary management of stakeholders through proactive communication and exception handling  

• Using metrics effectively to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in team processes, and to capture the effectiveness of changes.  

• Support the management of roadmaps and backlogs with Product Owners & Stakeholders.  

• Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.  

• Work as part of a multi-skilled team (including Data Engineers, Architects) 

• Facilitate ceremonies and team sessions to drive forward delivery, track effectiveness and deliver continuous improvement  

• Support the management of roadmaps and backlogs. 

• Support Product Owners in the creation of backlogs and manage through JIRA. 

• Lead with the mentoring of teams and individuals to improve our Agile ways of working across Sky Data 

• Coach and manage scrum teams within a complex programme across multiple geographical locations with multiple product deliverables such as co-ordination and tracking portfolio engineering activity that delivers the decisions which drives the capability delivery.. 

• Be adaptive in your approach to the application of agile methodologies appropriate for the situation especially around Scrum and Kanban. 

• Ensure that all deliverables adhere to the end to end change process and adhere to our best practice standards. 

• Collaborate with team members and wider stakeholders to successfully build trust, whilst establishing a culture of inclusivity. 

• Be an outstanding role model, by demonstrating high standards of behaviours and actions. 

What you'll bring 

• Hands on experience within a fast-paced data development team and product delivery.  

• Experience of working in an Agile environment and exposure to techniques and artefacts (e.g., Definition of done, user stories, epics, automated testing, backlog etc).  

• Proven experience of technology delivery and the demands it can bring.  

• Proven stakeholder management and influence experience and excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.  

• Experience of integration projects on a large-scale complex agile environments. 

• Experience of Agile transformation programmes 

• Experience of working in different delivery models, agile / waterfall, in dynamic challenging environment, where there are constant changing demands and priorities. 

• Be able to report clearly on and give visibility of activity, performance, risks, issues etc 

• Significant experience in Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean SD, XP, DSDM 

• Passionate and enthusiastic about Agile methodologies, paired with a real sense of doing what is right for the business and reaching pragmatic compromises. 

• Experience of using Jira or similar 

• Confidence in demonstrating continuous improvement in complex environments and contribute to our agile transformation journey. 

• Experience of building high performant multiple multi-disciplinary teams. 

• Know how to and show how you have motivated teams to succeed. 

• A real people person that connects easily with people and brings a strong positive energy to the table. 

• A true team player, you thrive of collaborating with others and bringing others on the journey to deliver. 

• Demonstrate an ability to actively champion the right decisions made through consensus.
