Sky Data OTT brings together data from multiple sources across Sky, creating analytical products and capabilities. You will be working in a fast paced and dynamic environment surrounded by a high performing team. As a senior Technical Analyst, you will be responsible for guiding, shaping and contributing to the technical solution for a variety of data systems. You will act as a bridge between business, technical teams and our engineering, visualisation and data science teams.

What you’ll do 

• Support Team Development – proactively assist the engineering lead with coaching and development of the team whilst actively contributing to a positive and high achieving team.

• Requirements and Technical Analysis – guide, shape and contribute to the technical solutions on each project. Deliver high quality requirements on time, every time for your projects.

• Data Profiling and Analytics – actively carry out data analytics and profiling to recommend improvements to enhance data quality, process improvements and business rule improvements.

• Analysis of Business Processes – analyse and demonstrate robust knowledge of data capture, update, usage and other core business processes that influence the data life-cycle. 

• Support Architecture Design and Decisions – help drive key data architecture and solution data modelling decisions by demonstrating a working understanding of the underlying data requirements, source systems and target business areas.

• Peer Reviews – actively peer review output from analysts to ensure expected quality and standards are adhered to. 

What you'll bring

• Strong Track Record and Delivery Experience – Extensive and demonstrable technical analysis experience in complex organisations. ISEB Business Analysis qualification is preferrable. Tangible experience in the Project Lifecycle process / Software Development Lifecycle Process. Demonstrate experience working within Agile Projects, using Agile methodology and tools.

• Technical Expertise – Demonstrate strong understanding of logical and physical data modelling and have significant experience in using SQL to analyse data for data source systems. Demonstrate knowledge of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices.

• Cloud & Data Warehousing Knowledge – proven in-depth understanding of large-scale data, such as data warehousing or cloud based analytic solutions. Experiences with implementation of Data Warehouse and ETL lifecycles would be advantageous. Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services) or GCP (Google Cloud Platform) would be beneficial.

• Leadership and People Skills – able to build strong relationships, demonstrate good mentoring skills and display proficiency in influencing technical and business teams.  

• Exceptional Communication Skills – demonstrate excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.  

• Desire to Learn – show a healthy interest to continuously learn, improve and innovate including learning new technologies.

Sky Data 

You will be working within the Strategy, Transformation and Platform team within Sky Data. Our team is primarily responsible for providing the Delivery capability across our technology and tooling projects focused on delivering against Sky Data strategy. The team is growing, and this is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure and to work with brilliant people on really exciting projects

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
