We care about the development of high-quality, maintainable software and utilise Continuous Integration / deployment for incremental delivery and fast feedback. We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join us on our journey.  

What you'll do 

• Motivate and evolve the OSS Technical Product Team - lead by example to establish and exemplify a culture of collaboration, psychological safety, curiosity and ownership 

• Be the expert and point of contact for our platform both internally and externally to the department, drive out and demonstrate business benefit and customer impact, and relate our work back to the OSS technical product suite 

• Gain a thorough understanding of business context, OSS context, technical requirements and constraints at speed for incoming demand to lead technical analysis on key OSS initiatives, bringing the work to life and demonstrating the wider purpose and end-to-end functions for our squads  

• Proactively lead / contribute to key ceremonies including high level impact assessment, initiation, technical feature briefing, playback, estimating, prioritisation, planning and sprint kick-off with continuous improvement in mind  

• Build relationships with and have an excellent understanding of our consumers and delivery partners in terms of stakeholders, domain, roadmap / priorities and ways of working, and share this knowledge with the wider team and department  

• Be accountable for and ensure all the pieces of the delivery puzzle fit together so the end-to-end business deliverable is fit for purpose and high quality, raise risks where necessary and suggest ways to remove impediments and enable progress where scope or priorities have changed  

• Contribute to best practice for Sky’s Technical Product Management discipline and engage with Technology-wide initiatives to find win-wins for our platform and the wider business  

What you'll bring 

• Extensive experience in low level technical analysis, ideally in an in-house software delivery function or similar, with both onshore engineering teams and off-shore strategic partners  

• Experience in a varied range of software delivery projects and the diverse challenges they bring and an appreciation for and interest in the art of software development in an agile environment 

• Strong influencing and senior stakeholder management skills - can people along on a journey and convey information with clarity, credibility and charisma 

• Ability to solve complex problems and manage intricate dependencies with excellent attention to detail and the flexibility to move with change 

• Pragmatism and ability to prioritise under pressure in a fast-paced environment in terms of your own work and delivering the right thing at the right time  

• People leadership – proven track record of motivating and developing people, leading by example to establish and exemplify a culture of collaboration, psychological safety, curiosity and ownership

You will be working within the Strategy, Transformation and Platform team within Sky Data. Our team is primarily responsible for providing the Delivery capability across our technology and tooling projects focused on delivering against Sky Data strategy. The team is growing, and this is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure and to work with brilliant people on really exciting projects.
