What you'll do

• Collaborate with teams to interpret business requirements and deliver reliable, customer-focused technical solutions.

• Help automate and improve software deployments and delivery pipelines to increase efficiency.

• Work with a mixed team of Site Reliability Engineers and DBAs, supporting both On-Prem and Cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS with some exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Work alongside Developers, Engineers, Testers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Solutions Architects to maintain and improve market-leading digital solutions.

What you'll bring

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (minimum 2 years), including expertise in configuring VPC, managing IAM roles, working with Route53, configuring and maintaining EC2 instances, and managing S3 buckets. Experience with using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible to automate and manage AWS infrastructure is essential.

• Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development to automate testing and deployment processes. Experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, especially in integrating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within these pipelines.

• Experience with Apache Kafka, with an understanding of its role in building scalable, real-time streaming or event-driven architectures.

• Scripting proficiency in languages like Python, Bash, or Go to automate tasks and streamline operations.

• Containerization Knowledge: Practical experience working with Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and manage containerised applications.

• Monitoring & Observability: Experience with tools like Splunk and Prometheus, including the ability to write PromQL queries for monitoring purposes.

• Experience configuring edge delivery solutions with providers like Akamai or Fastly to optimise performance and security.

• Experience working with relational or document databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills, able to effectively troubleshoot complex technical issues and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

• Comfortable participating in an on-call rotation, handling incident management and responding to infrastructure issues as they arise.

In Sky Digital Identity we provide an interface directly with all our customers as they access internal and external platforms across the business. You’ll help us keep our services secure so that customers feel their identity is protected, and make sure they have the same experience with us regardless of which channel they use to access our systems.  Above all you’ll help keep our systems resilient and reliable as they serve millions of customers each year.
