Social Media Manager - Sports
As a Social Media Manager for Sky Sports, you will be responsible for planning, concepting and executing best practice culturally relevant social campaigns and always on social content for across all of our growth audience work, aiming to reach younger and more diverse audiences across organic and paid media that bring to life the very best of the Sports product offering.
What you’ll do:
- Alongside the Senior Social Media Manager, Senior Influencer Manager & team, you’ll help lead end-to-end social media campaign and brand storytelling output that showcase the range of Sports rights across social channels.
- Activating social first cultural moments for Sky Sports across our right portfolio, working from brief, to concept to final execution and managing key internal stakeholders on this creative journey, whilst liaising with high profile talent, if required, on shoots.
- Working with agency partners to own the creative end-to-end process of both brand storytelling social content and social campaigns.
- Activating campaigns (writing paid copy, sharing assets, completing strategy and reporting decks) for Sky Sports across paid and owned social media activity as well as working with media agency to bring to life relevant media strategies for our work.
- Work hand-in-hand with our influencer team across key episodic social series supporting the day-to-day editorial content operations alongside key agency partners and wider business stakeholder groups.
- Be on the pulse with culturally relevance Sports social and talent led content and be willing to bring new and exciting ways to engage younger audiences for Sky Sports and the rights we hold.
- Work with our PR and Influencer teams to deliver integrated campaigns with aligned influencer and own channel publishing.
- Becoming an ambassador for excellent Sports social content within the business, willing to educate and inspire others.
- Inputting into social media strategies, using creativity to come up with best-in-class social creative ideas & advising on how to best use social to achieve business objectives.
- Express a keen interest in Sports and showcase understanding across all of Sky Sports’ rights including Football, F1, Tennis, Cricket and Golf.
What you’ll bring:
- Multiple years digital social media marketing experience. Experience within Sports Industry ideal.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively to senior stakeholders, and stakeholders across a matrix organisation
- Experience working with and managing agencies
- Management experience in the UK required, with EU experience desired but not mandatory
- Experience developing and delivering always-on content as well as excellent social campaigns
- Ability to form strong relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to work independently and get involved in campaigns from conception to delivery, adding value at every stage
- Some project management experience, comfortable managing large projects spanning multiple agencies and workstreams
- Be comfortable interrogating & challenging media plans (experience with buying/implementation not necessary)
- Experience devising social media strategies, and interrogating media plans.
