Specialist Producer - Sky News (12 Month FTC)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Producer to join our specialist journalism team in Sky News on a 12-month basis. You will contribute on both an editorial and organisational level to the delivery of multiplatform content in our fast paced and world class newsroom.

This role includes irregular hours and travel, at short notice to places around the UK and further afield.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate on coverage across Sky News platforms to ensure we are making the most of our content; daily contact with planning and news desks to plan and execute coverage.

• Research and set up stories, contributing ideas to generate bold, engaging and original content.

• Investigations, contact-driven and/or drawing on open-source intelligence.

• Manage travel, budget and logistics.

• Support with long form and other innovative broadcast and digital formats.

What you'll bring:

• Demonstrable experience of collaborating with colleagues in an editorial environment.

• Substantial experience of TV and digital news production.

• Evidence of editorial judgement, factual accuracy, and journalistic enterprise.

• Knowledge of newsgathering through open source intelligence.

• Strong planning, organisational and logistical skills.

• First class communication and collaboration skills.

• Strong understanding of media law and UK compliance regulations.
