What you'll do:
As a System Integration Lead of the Solution Engineering Team within Content Supply Platforms, you will collaborate with Delivery Managers, Scrum Masters and delivery teams, Central Analysts, Architects, Programme Managers, Stakeholders and other Product and Technical Leads to define and deliver the End-to-End aligned test strategy, approach and plan enable early business value.
Provide a consistent and coherent test vision at appropriate levels of detail to Stakeholders and technical teams within the department. Be the primary source of information for test progress and ensure test plans and artefacts are kept up-to-date and communicated accordingly.
Understand interactions between components and external consumers and leverage this knowledge to translate business and technical requirements into test requirements and artefacts. Appreciate and communicate the business value of features in a technical context.
Define end-to-end user stories and test scenarios to support new functionality or changes to existing feature sets. Help the efficient and continuous validation of these changes between systems and components by providing technical guidance to delivery teams to drive test automation and devising a test automation strategy for the department.
Own the end-to-end quality and testing deliverables for services and application. Ensure appropriate test practices and methodologies are applied. Promote creativity and encourage technical innovation through continual improvement in processes, technologies and tooling to improve quality and delivery.
Proactively identify, analyse and resolve impediments and issues that have the potential to impact delivery. Devise and drive contingency plans to minimise risks. Provide support to production escalations where applicable.
What you'll bring:
Demonstrable experience of a previous role as an Integration Lead within an Engineering department for a large organisation, preferably within an integration/multi-team environment providing backend services.
Strong Stakeholder management and relevant people management experience. This includes providing regular status updates on current test activities at appropriate levels of detail for stakeholders, technical teams and the wider business.
Technical experience and knowledge of platform development and backend systems and experience of testing these. Able to quickly understand the full end-to-end functionality of all components within a complex architecture and defining a test strategy and gap analysis.
In-depth understanding of software development processes and procedures, especially iterative development and incremental delivery using Agile methodologies and principles. Expertise in applying test and automation practices in an Agile environment utilizing continuous delivery and continuous testing models
Experience of risk management strategies to mitigate and maintain alignment to business/programme strategies coupled with experience of championing cross-departmental improvement initiatives.
Extensive knowledge and experience of Integration and E2E testing within a full stack environment. An excellent understanding of cloud and web concepts including REST and RESTful services. Experience of testing large, highly scalable distributed services, complex databases, microservices and APIs in service and resource-oriented architectures. Including:
REST and RESTful services and associated test frameworks
Cloud-based service
Unit testing frameworks
Java automation frameworks
Performance and non-functional testing tools
Relational and NoSQL databases and testing approaches
Network principles and protocols
