Role/Team overview

A fantastic opportunity to join Content Supply Platforms in a unique role that provides exposure to all of the department’s high-profile deliveries across the major programmes. This is your chance to shape the testing strategy of an entire department!

What you'll do:

  • As System Integration Lead in the Solution Engineering team, you will work with Delivery Managers, Scrum Masters, delivery teams, analysts, architects, programme managers, stakeholders, and product and technical leads to define and deliver an end-to-end test strategy, approach, and plan that drives early business value.
  • Set a clear and consistent test vision tailored to stakeholder and technical team needs. Act as the main point of contact for test progress, keeping plans and artefacts current and communicating updates effectively.
  • Understand how components and external consumers interact, and use that knowledge to translate business and technical requirements into test requirements and artefacts. Clearly communicate the business value of features in a technical context.
  • Define end-to-end user stories and test scenarios for new and existing features. Support continuous, efficient validation across systems and components by guiding teams on automation and shaping the department’s test automation strategy.
  • Own end-to-end quality and testing deliverables across services and applications. Ensure appropriate test practices and methodologies are applied, and drive continuous improvement in processes, technology, and tooling to improve quality and delivery.
  • Identify, analyse, and resolve issues and blockers that could impact delivery. Develop contingency plans to reduce risk and support production escalations when needed.
  • Execute manual and automated tests for features and produce test exit reports.
  • Maintain and enhance existing automation test packs.

What you'll bring:

Must Have

  • Led integration testing across complex enterprise systems, including features delivered by internal teams, third parties, and partners
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing automation test packs, with coding skills in at least one common language such as Java, Python, or Groovy.
  • Hands-on experience with tools and platforms such as Postman, AWS/CloudWatch, and S3 bucket setup.
  • Strong stakeholder and people management skills, with the ability to provide clear, audience-appropriate updates on testing activity to stakeholders, technical teams, and the wider business.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with platform development and backend systems, with the ability to quickly understand end-to-end architecture, define test strategies, and identify gaps.

Nice to Have

  • Proven experience as an Integration Lead in a large engineering organisation, ideally within a multi-team integration environment delivering backend services.
  • Knowledge of video encoding, encryption, and streaming technologies across OTT and related platforms.
  • Experience executing manual and automated tests for features and producing test exit reports.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, especially iterative development and incremental delivery using Agile principles, with experience applying testing and automation practices in continuous delivery and continuous testing environments.
  • Extensive experience in integration and end-to-end testing within full-stack environments, with strong knowledge of cloud and web technologies, including RESTful services. This includes testing large-scale distributed services, complex databases, microservices, and APIs, as well as familiarity with test frameworks, unit testing tools, Java automation frameworks, performance and non-functional testing tools, relational and NoSQL databases, and network principles and protocols.
  • Experience developing risk management strategies that support business and programme objectives, along with a track record of leading cross-department improvement initiatives
