This senior editorial role will put you at the sharp end of Sky News journalism, commissioning and delivering multimedia premium content across Sky’s platforms and social channels. There will be considerable team management responsibilities across the specialists’ team.

What you’ll do:

  • Discuss features, long-reads and other premium projects with senior journalists and editors both in the field and in the newsroom.

  • Manage a team of digital specialists, encouraging and commissions original stories.

  • Make key editorial decisions and commissions across a range of subjects. Find innovative ways of visual and immersive storytelling.

  • Work effectively with journalists across the world, as well as with teams across the Sky News newsroom, including the home and foreign desks and the Data and Forensic unit.

  • Ensure all stories are written to the highest standards of journalism and are legally compliant.

What you’ll bring:

  • Excellent news judgement to help guide coverage and come up with original angles and feature ideas on the biggest events.

  • First-class ability to edit copy, write with flair and combine visual elements, as well as charts and graphics, for compelling digital story-telling.

  • People management; able to work with a variety of people and Sky News’ biggest names.

  • Have the experience and legal knowledge to sign-off any sensitive journalism.

  • Familiarity with data-visualisation tools and knowledge in Shorthand and other immersive story-telling tools a plus.
