As a Commercial Strategy Manager, you’ll shape how we evolve and protect our customer base in a changing consumer landscape. You’ll be responsible for developing and embedding key commercial strategies ensuring our base remains stable, competitive and ready for the future. This is a high-profile, cross-functional role that blends commercial acumen, strategic thinking and customer focus. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Propositions, Marketing, and Insight teams to deliver strategies that make a real difference to customer outcomes and business performance.

Base Management sit within the Customer Management team. We are the heartbeat of Sky, responsible for the commercial health of our customer base. We work closely with a number of teams across the business pulling together plans that benefit our customers across their lifecycle to drive retention. As a result, this role will allow you to rapidly build an internal network across Sky. So, if you want to work across large groups of diverse teams in a high-profile role, then this could be for you!
What you’ll do:
Lead and evolve base stabilisation initiatives (e.g value propositions, end of offer roll off process). Closely track performance across business and financial KPIs looking for further opportunities to enhance contribution to overall business performance.
Collaborate with P&L teams to assess the impact of propositional changes on the existing customer base, ensuring implications are fully considered and developing clear action plans to manage and respond to base customer needs.
Provide support on key regulatory programmes, ensuring full compliance while maintaining strong commercial performance. Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical customer‑focused and operational solutions.
Monitor emerging business, market and competitor risks that could destabilise the customer base, providing timely insight to enable proactive decision‑making and ensuring Sky is well‑prepared to support and guide customers through periods of change.
Collaborate closely with Product, Commercial, Marketing, Trading and other teams to ensure alignment, consistency and seamless delivery across go‑to‑market plans.
Present insights and recommendations to diverse audiences, producing clear, compelling presentation materials that support effective stakeholder engagement.
What you’ll bring:
You’ll be a strategic thinker – able to take complex ideas and simplify them into a plan that is forward looking and puts the customer first.
You’ll be brilliant at translating complex customer insight into creative commercial strategies that drive momentum and strong business performance.
You’ll be commercially aware and numerate, able to size commercial opportunities and influence your network to keep us focused on what’s important.
You’ll be excellent at collaborating across several teams, and skilled at communicating up, down and across the organisation.
You’ll have strong analytical skills and be confident using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint – producing packs and business cases that cut through complexity and lead straight to a decision.
You’ll be confident at presenting your recommendations and bringing stakeholders on a journey.
You’ll have previous experience with commercial/strategy roles, base management or customer retention programmes.
