We are seeking an experienced ML Engineer to join our team. The Machine Learning Engineer will play an important role in shaping the future of voice at Sky and Comcast — building the intelligence that makes talking to your TV feel natural, responsive, and effortless. You’ll design, develop, and maintain applied machine learning solutions that power Sky’s far-field voice experiences across Sky Glass, Xumo, Xfinity, and other partner devices. 

What you’ll do

• Build and optimize ML models using Tensorflow or Pytorch for far-field voice detection, verification, and enhancement across Sky devices and cloud platforms. 

• Implement ML models on the edge devices and optimize their performance for real-time inference. 

• Work closely with data scientists, audio engineers, product managers, and external partners to design, develop and deploy ML solutions that meet business requirements. 

• Conduct experiments and perform statistical analysis to evaluate model performance 

• Build and maintain scalable infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP 

• Develop and maintain data pipelines, model training, and deployment pipelines 

• Work with software engineers to integrate ML models into the production environment. 

• Contribute to innovation discussions and research in applied speech, audio signal processing, ASR, NLP and machine learning. 

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field, with proven experience building and optimizing ML models using TensorFlow or PyTorch. 

• Hands-on experience implementing ML models on edge devices and optimizing for real-time, low-latency inference. 

• Strong knowledge of AWS and/or GCP, including building scalable ML infrastructure, data pipelines, and deployment workflows. 

• Proficiency in Python and experience integrating ML models into production environments in collaboration with software engineers. 

• Understanding of and interest in speech recognition, audio signal processing, ASR, and NLP, combined with problem-solving skills and ability to innovate in applied ML for voice technologies. 

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with ability to work cross-functionally, mentor junior engineers, and adapt to a fast-paced environment while driving technical direction.

Our team builds and powers the voice experience that brings Sky’s entertainment ecosystem to life. We design and deliver the machine learning models and cloud systems that make speaking to Sky Glass and other partner’s FFV devices feel natural, seamless and reliable. 

At Sky, we’re creating the technology that enables millions of customers to interact effortlessly with their TV — simply by using their voice. 

Working as part of the Far Field Voice team and the wider Voice team at Comcast, you’ll focus on continuously improving the voice experience on EntOS across all territories and syndication partners. This includes researching and delivering key and novel features — from accurate voice detection and verification, to personalised and context-aware interaction models. You’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and partners to ensure we deliver a truly frictionless, high-quality voice experience.
