The Music Department are looking for a proactive, organised, and enthusiastic individual to join the Music Reporting team in this entry level role.  

As a Music Reporting Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that complete and accurate data is delivered to the music societies. Working to strict monthly deadlines, you’ll be responsible for entering and verifying both transmission and music usage information in Soundmouse — Sky’s music reporting system. Your work will ensure the timely and accurate distribution of royalties to performers, composers, publishers, and labels.  

Our work spans key content areas including Sky Entertainment, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, and Sky Creative. The department is made up of four specialist teams: Licensing, Creative, SATV, and Reporting.  

 

 

What you'll do:  

  • Ensure monthly reporting deadlines are met   

  • Be fully competent in the use of relevant systems including BSS, Soundmouse, MusicBox & PRS for Music  

  • Ensure cue sheets are approved to a high degree of accuracy on a consistent basis  

  • Validate track & usage details using various web-based music resources  

  • Identify and resolve issues that may occur through the automated identification of music   

  • Work closely with the Music Licensing, Creative & SATV teams to ensure the accurate reporting of licensed and commissioned music   

  • Build and maintain solid and effective working relationships with both internal and external contacts  

  

What you’ll bring: 

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work to fixed deadlines & prioritise workload. 

  • Proficient in MS Office/MS Teams

  • Proven ability to process and validate large volumes of cue sheet data and music reporting while maintaining strict accuracy, diligence, and compliance with rights‑holder requirements.

  • Professional, positive & pro-active attitude is essential along with the ability to work well both as an individual & within a team

  • Previous experience & understanding of music copyright & reporting, along with working knowledge of Soundmouse
