Role/ Team overview    

Our vision is to enable Sky’s growth ambitions though Data and AI: deepening customer relationships, optimising commercial performance, and enhancing operational efficiency. 

Our Senior Scrum Masters work within Data Domains and are responsible for the overall Agility of the Squads they support as well as supporting the delivery of our high-profile work. 

We have an exciting opportunity within our Viewing Domain, working across multiple squads and supporting Sky’s Media, Content and Channel Partnership directorates. 

Our Viewing Data domain is responsible for processing and delivering insights from customer viewing behaviour. We use this data to design, build, and maintain high-quality data products and assets that support a range of commercial and customer-focused outcomes. These capabilities play a key role in enabling advertising, content, and partnership teams to better understand audiences and deliver more effective campaigns, including both traditional advertising and addressable advertising solutions. 

We work in close collaboration with business stakeholders and product teams, delivering through agile squads operating in regular sprint cycles. While we have a strong degree of ownership over our solutions, our work is aligned to broader product strategies and business priorities. This places us at the centre of a fast-paced, data-driven environment—supporting significant revenue-generating products today, while also building the data foundations and capabilities needed for future innovation, including the increasing use of Generative AI. 

What you'll do:  

• Agile Excellence: Act as Agile Coach to our squads and leadership, embedding Agile principles across new and established teams. 

• Efficiency: Drive agile adoption and continuous improvement at both team and organisational level. 

• Operational: Stand up new teams and delivery areas, designing team structures, ceremonies, and onboarding. 

• Strategic Delivery: Work with other teams to shape cross-directorate standards, metrics, and frameworks. 

• Collaboration: Partner with leadership to assess and improve the overall agility and performance of the directorate. 

What you'll bring:  

• Scrum Master Expertise: Proven experience as a Senior Scrum Master or Agile Coach across multiple squads, in complex cross-functional environments. 

• Agile Coaching & Framework Knowledge: Strong coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills across multiple team levels (Delivery Teams, Scrum Masters, Engineers, Leadership); deep knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and other Agile delivery frameworks. 

• JIRA Governance: Experience governing and optimising JIRA across multiple teams or departments and driving forwards our strategic ambition of having JIRA as the single source of truth. 

• Collaboration & Communication: Confident working across organisational boundaries, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively; excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 

• Delivery: Strong understanding of Agile metrics, Delivery KPIs, and techniques for measuring and improving team performance, with the ability to present these metrics in a consistent, scalable format that is easily understood by both squad teams and senior leadership 

• Team Foundation and Scaling: Experience setting up and scaling new Agile teams and/or operating models.
