Behind every hardworking television presenter is an even harder-working guest booker. The Sky News Interviews Team delivers news-making names 24/7. Are you willing to roll your sleeves up and join us?
As Interviews Producer you’ll work with presenters, programme editors and senior members of the Interviews Team to shape the output with a focus on news making bookings for all Sky News platforms. You’ll liaise with the news desks, correspondents and producers to identify key players for interviews. You’ll devise strategies to establish contact and build relationships with the people at the heart of the story. You'll research for interviews, writing first class briefs for presenters. You’ll be part of a team that works closely together to a clear vision, in a dynamic environment that allows people to thrive and excel.
You will work in our Osterley newsroom. Because of business requirements, opportunities to work from home are limited. The shift pattern is a nine-day fortnight and will include weekend shifts.
What you’ll do:
As Interviews Producer you’ll help drive efforts to ensure contributors reflect the diverse views, values and experiences of people across Britain
Liaise with production teams to identify topics for interviews and debate segments
Research interview topics and guests, writing first class briefs for presenters and producers
Book guests and make sure all logistics are arranged to guarantee they make it on air
Maintain an excellent contacts book and improve the Sky News database
Contribute to editorial meetings suggesting guest ideas and topics
What you'll bring:
Experience of delivering guests
A passion for domestic and international news, politics and current affairs
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A journalism qualification
