OCS Technical Specialist is an exciting role as part of an expert team responsible for supporting Sky’s production Online Charging System (OCS). This is the brains behind Sky Mobile performing the real-time rating and charging function for Sky’s 3.5m+ subscribers.

What you'll do

  • Provide L2 / L3 support for Amdocs OCS application

  • Work closely with Sky OCS Design and Delivery, 3rd party vendor (Amdocs) and other departments across Sky

  • Incident and Problem management (Spark) of OCS issues

  • Suggest improvements. Co-operate to develop, coordinate & see them through to deployment

  • Generate ideas with the team and participate in improvement of standards

  • Document all operational processes and estate details within the internal WIKI (Confluence).

  • On call support

What you'll bring

  • Computer science related honours degree or equivalent qualification or relevant experience

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience of mobile telephony product catalogue, accounts and billing systems

  • Understanding of 3GPP specification standards and protocols and telecom call flows

  • Understanding of containerisation and orchestration

  • Experience of working in or with agile development teams

  • Understand the business and provisioning systems for Mobile service (BSS/OSS)

  • Strong skills in unix / shell scripting

  • Knowledge of Database Management, Postrgres or Oracle SQL preferrable

  • Understanding of CI/CD

  • Strong communication and analytical skills

  • Be organised and focused around the siftware delivery lifecycle (SDLC)

Team overview

Network to Business Integration (N2BI) owns and manages systems and infrastructure supporting Sky’s mobile and fixed telephony, broadband and IP core networks. N2BI act as an intermediary service function for all broadband and telephony fulfilment, assurance, rating and billing for other departments within Sky.

N2BI works closely with other departments across Sky to provide voice applications to support Sky’s fixed and mobile telephony businesses including billing, fraud management and regulatory compliance. This includes drawing up business cases for new proposals and defining their benefits, overall programme management for designated projects and liaison with other areas of IT, networks, voice engineering and the Operations centres to ensure effective delivery.

Responsibility also includes aspects of the architecture, service design and management of the Online Charging System and other aspects for the Policy Control & Charging Architecture (PCCA) used by the Sky Mobile service.
