Sky is Europe's leading entertainment company and serves over 22 million customers across five countries. Our business in the UK and Ireland has come a long way since starting out as a satellite broadcaster in 1989 and we’re not stopping there. We’re home to award-winning teams for everything from Customer Service to Marketing, from Technology to Finance, meaning there’s plenty of opportunity for you, no matter what your career goals.

Sky Business is a new, exciting division of Sky. We’re passionate about giving businesses better solutions to keep them moving forward – from SoHo, through Mid-Market and Wholesale, to Hospitality – we provide broadband, phone and TV services to the whole UK B2B market.

With an exciting, fast-paced scale up environment but with the support of Sky and parent company Comcast, we’re looking for exceptional people to help drive our business forward. And with the support of a truly trusting and collaborative team, you’ll grow alongside our business.

We’re recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager. You will be joining the Sky Business Technology Portfolio & Delivery team – supporting an integrated portfolio of content and communications products - offering ‘cradle to grave’ technology services. This is a team with drive and dynamism, working at the forefront of product and technology adoption. It’s welcoming, inclusive and a place where everyone can be themselves.

The perks

As a valued employee of Sky, you’ll benefit from a free Sky Q premium package (one off payment required for installation), an excellent pension scheme, private health care and a share save scheme. There’s a range of other benefits to help you make valuable tax and national insurance savings too.

You will be responsible for the creation, prioritisation and delivery of key business & customer optimisations and improvements across an array of senior stakeholders. This team are accountable for identifying and delivering capability on a regular basis across our key customer journeys, platforms, products and reporting suite.

Your key responsibilities

We will want you to:

  • Facilitate and drive multiple business asks to completion through backlog management & prioritisationacross Sky Business Technology, Sky Data & WiFi teams;

  • Build strong and collaborative relationships across the business, operational and delivery areas and to be seen as a trusted delivery resource giving concise exec updates in value stream meetings;

  • Innovate to continuously improve agile delivery processes & best practices both within the team and externally within Sky.

  • Build collaborative and close relationships with Business, Change, Architecture, Analysis and Release teams, to ensure alignment across scope, architecture, governance and plans on all initiatives you work on.

  • Provide structure and guidance and be the calm voice of reason across the delivery to ensure the focus is on the key priorities.

  • Build good industry knowledge across Sky Business so that you can clearly articulate and manage the context of the delivery to ensure delivery is aligned to the overall strategy of the business.

  • Exercise all the attributes expected within the role including backlog prioritisation, scope management, plan management, budgetary control, risk and issue management.

This role will have high visibility within Sky: you will be working with all parts of the organisation as you will be involved in fast, high benefit delivery that make customers happier and the business to operate better.

It is a challenging and rewarding role, and the successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and resilient.

  • Importantly, you will have a pragmatic result- and delivery- oriented mindset, with a track record of having facilitated multiple capability deliveries, ideally in industry related to Sky’s core products, but this domain experience is not essential. We want people who have delivered complex backlogs of capabilities to ensure business goals are achieved.

  • We need you to be a good communicator and listener, who is able to translate messages and simplify and summarise problems in a straightforward and succinct manner.

  • We want you to be flexible in your approach and be able to adapt your style and methods to get the best out of the business in delivering benefit. Being able to recognise when things are not working and need changing is core to what we are looking for.

  • You will have vision, drive, diplomacy and the ability to make things happen in an environment of ambiguity, complexity and multiple stakeholders, being able to influence others without direct authority.

  • We need you to be a good facilitator who is able to resolve tension and increase collaboration towards shared goals in any situation, and who is able to build effective relationships with a range of individuals across the organisation.

  • We want you to be open and transparent in everything that you do. You will always be supported by the wider team so knowing when to ask for help is a key attribute we look for.

  • Finally, we want you to be seen as strong agile delivery resource that can be trusted to deliver to the business priorities. To do this we would like you to be able to prioritise & manage multiple backlogs in as collaborative a way as possible and to understand the complex dynamics that arise in cross functional delivery in a large organisation such as ours.

Depending on your preference, we can base this role in our Head Office in Osterley, West London or our Brick Lane office, East London or our Watermark office in Livingston, Scotland. Some travel to other locations throughout the UK, Germany and Italy will be required from time to time.
